Theorycrafted before the WoW Forever beta (September 17, 2026). The leveling plan follows the proven Classic leveling builds, the talents use the pre-release WoW Forever trees on this site, and ability levels quoted from Classic may differ in Forever. Expect updates once the beta is testable.
Overview
Levels 10–60 · Arms Warrior, solo questing and grinding.
Arms is the classic way to level a Warrior alone: it works with whatever two-hander the quests hand you, and Sweeping Strikes turns every two-mob pull into half the fight time. The WoW Forever tree keeps that core but changes the path to it: the old Tactical Mastery is now Improved Tactical Mastery and leads into Anger Management, the weapon specializations are merged into Weaponmaster, and Bloodthrill adds Overpower procs against targets bleeding from your Rend. The plan below takes Deep Wounds and Rage talents first, Sweeping Strikes at 30, Mortal Strike at 40, and then borrows Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath from Fury the way the Classic Arms guides did.
Why this build
- Consistent damage with any gear. Deep Wounds, Weaponmaster and Mortal Strike scale with a slow two-hander, the weapon type quests reward most often.
- Two mobs are not a problem. Sweeping Strikes at 30 and Cleave let you pull pairs on purpose, which is where most of your leveling speed comes from.
- Rage when you need it. Improved Charge opens every fight with Rage, Anger Management trickles it in, and Improved Tactical Mastery keeps 25 Rage through a stance swap.
- Mortal Strike at 40 is a big hit on a 6 sec cooldown and cuts healing on the target by 50%, which matters against healer mobs and in world PvP.
Weak spots
- No self-healing. Every pull costs health, and you eat after most fights until your gear catches up. Plan food into your gold.
- Casters and ranged mobs pull you out of position. Break line of sight so they walk to you instead of chasing them.
- Three or more mobs before Whirlwind and Sweeping Strikes are a real risk. Retaliation and Intimidating Shout are your escape buttons, not a plan.
Talent order by level
One point per level from level 10 to 60. The talent tree above shows the finished level 60 build; use the level slider to see it at any level.
- Levels 10–12 · Improved Rend 3/3 — Up to 35% more Rend bleed damage, and the three points unlock Deep Wounds.
- Levels 13–14 · Improved Heroic Strike 2/3 — Cheaper Heroic Strike: your Rage dump on single targets costs up to 3 Rage less.
- Levels 15–16 · Improved Charge 2/2 — Up to 6 extra Rage from Charge, enough to Rend the moment you arrive.
- Levels 17–18 · Improved Overpower 2/2 — Up to 50% more critical strike chance on Overpower, which feeds Deep Wounds.
- Level 19 · Improved Tactical Mastery 1/5 — Keep up to 25 Rage when you swap stances, so Intercept or Berserker Rage no longer cost your whole bar. Five points unlock Anger Management.
- Levels 20–22 · Deep Wounds 3/3 — Critical strikes make the target bleed for 60% of your weapon’s average damage over 12 sec: free damage on every crit.
- Levels 23–26 · Improved Tactical Mastery 5/5 — finish the talent.
- Level 27 · Anger Management 1/1 — 1 Rage every 3 sec in combat and less Rage decay out of combat, so you start the next pull with something in the bar.
- Levels 28–29 · Two-Handed Weapon Specialization 2/3 — +3% damage with the two-handed weapons you level with.
- Level 30 · Sweeping Strikes 1/1 — Your next 5 melee attacks also hit a nearby enemy. Pull pairs on purpose from this level on.
- Levels 31–35 · Weaponmaster 5/5 — A bonus by weapon type at 5 points: 5% crit with axes and polearms, 15% armor ignored with maces and staves, or a 5% extra-attack chance with swords.
- Levels 36–37 · Impale 2/2 — +20% critical strike damage bonus on your abilities, which makes Overpower and Mortal Strike crits hit much harder.
- Level 38 · Two-Handed Weapon Specialization 3/3 — finish the talent.
- Level 39 · Improved Heroic Strike 3/3 — finish the talent.
- Level 40 · Mortal Strike 1/1 — Weapon damage plus 85 on a short cooldown and 50% less healing on the target: your main attack from 40 on.
- Levels 41–45 · Cruelty (Fury) 5/5 — +5% melee critical strike chance from Fury: more Deep Wounds, more Impale damage.
- Levels 46–50 · Unbridled Wrath (Fury) 5/5 — A 40% chance for an extra Rage point on each weapon hit, so Mortal Strike and Whirlwind come up more often.
- Level 51 · Piercing Howl (Fury) 1/1 — Dazes all nearby enemies for 6 sec: stops runners and lets you walk away from an add.
- Levels 52–54 · Improved Hamstring 3/3 — A 15% chance for Hamstring to root the target for 5 sec, which keeps fleeing humanoids from pulling friends.
- Levels 55–59 · Bloodthrill 5/5 — Hits on targets with your Rend have a 10% chance to enable Overpower: another reason to keep Rend rolling.
- Level 60 · Spearing Strike 1/1 — Extra damage against Giants, Dragonkin and mounted targets, and it dismounts riders: handy in Feralas and Un’Goro.
Key levels
- Level 10 · Defensive Stance quest and Sunder Armor. Improved Rend starts your bleed damage and later unlocks Deep Wounds.
- Level 20 · Cleave from the trainer and Deep Wounds from talents: your crits start leaving bleeds.
- Level 24 · Execute. Save 15 Rage near the end of every fight for it.
- Level 27 · Anger Management: 1 Rage every 3 sec in combat, so you no longer start fights empty.
- Level 30 · Sweeping Strikes, plus the Berserker Stance quest and the Whirlwind Weapon quest that follows, the best two-hander most Warriors see before 40.
- Level 36 · Whirlwind from the trainer: Sweeping Strikes, then Whirlwind, is your best two-mob opener.
- Level 40 · Mortal Strike, plate armor and your first mount. Buy plate as soon as you can afford it.
How to pull and kill
- Charge in Battle Stance. Improved Charge gives you enough Rage for Rend right away. Pull single mobs or pairs, never three unless Sweeping Strikes and Retaliation are ready.
- Rend, then build Rage. Rend on anything that will live 10 sec or more; it is also what lets Bloodthrill proc Overpower later. Keep Battle Shout up and use Bloodrage on cooldown when your health is fine.
- Overpower on every dodge. Improved Overpower makes it crit very often, and every crit spreads Deep Wounds. From 55, Bloodthrill gives extra Overpowers against Rended targets.
- On two mobs, Sweeping Strikes first. Then Cleave or Whirlwind (36) as your Rage dump; Sweeping Strikes copies the hits to the second mob. Mortal Strike the target you want dead first.
- Single target from 40: Mortal Strike on cooldown, Heroic Strike only when you have more than 40 Rage, and Execute below 20% health.
- When a pull goes wrong, Hamstring runners before they reach friends, Intimidating Shout to break a third mob off you, and Retaliation when you are surrounded by melee.
Leveling tips
- Weapon upgrades are your biggest leveling boost. Check the auction house every few levels, take two-handed quest rewards over stats, and do the Whirlwind Weapon quest at 30. Weaponmaster rewards axes and polearms with crit, so an axe is the best choice when the damage is close.
- Train First Aid and keep bandages on your bars. Warriors have no heal, and a bandage between two pulls saves a full rest.
- Food is part of your rotation. Buy or cook the best food for your level and eat after every fight below half health. Skinning or Mining earn the gold for it.
- Zones: Westfall, Loch Modan or the Barrens for 10–20, Wetlands, Hillsbrad or Stonetalon for 20–30, Arathi Highlands, Desolace and Stranglethorn Vale for 30–40, Tanaris, Feralas and the Hinterlands for 40–50, and Un’Goro, Felwood and Western Plaguelands for 50–60.
- Dungeons pay Warriors in weapons. Smite’s Mighty Hammer in The Deadmines (18–24) and the Scarlet Monastery wings (31–45) are well worth a run while leveling.
- Stay in Battle Stance while questing. Improved Tactical Mastery lets you swap to Berserker Stance for Intercept or Berserker Rage against fears without losing your Rage, then swap back.
After level 60
At 60 this build handles world content and dungeons. For raids, respec toward Fury with Flurry and Bloodthirst, or Protection if your group needs a tank.
